In early December, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education officially released its list of outstanding resources for artificial intelligence curriculum development. Mr Cameron Honey, our school’s Head of Digital Strategy and ICT teacher, was recognized for his programme, “Exploring the Boundaries of Human and Artificial Intelligence”. This accolade highlights the school’s leading position in technology education and curriculum innovation, with its forward-thinking approach to AI education receiving recognition from provincial education authorities.

The programme is carefully structured and accessible, covering core areas of AI including: its definition, training principles (datasets and algorithms), how AI chatbots function, using AI safely and responsibly while understanding its limits compared to real friendship, recognising AI bias (arising from the quality and balance of training datasets), and analysing various AI algorithms.
Harrow Hengqin places strong emphasis on developing students’ digital literacy and future-ready skills. AI education is progressively integrated into the curriculum from Lower School, with a dedicated AI topic within the Upper School ICT class.
Inclusion in the provincial list not only recognises Harrow Hengqin’s excellent work in AI curriculum development but also reflects its commitment to nurturing globally-minded, critical thinkers and responsible digital citizens. The school will continue to deepen its expertise in technology education, guiding students to navigate the rapidly evolving digital age with confidence.
