The 4th Long Ducker at Harrow Hengqin took place on 31 January in the beautiful Hengqin Rowing Park next to our school. More than 400 students (aged 3 to 18), staff and parents took part, promoting goodwill through running and supporting a worthy charitable cause. The Long Ducker was originally a sponsored run at Harrow School in London.

This year there was the choice of a 4.2 km individual race and a 2.1 km house race, using the running paths along the Tianmu River. Our students wore coloured tops representing their houses: Anderson (red), Bing Xin (yellow), Churchill (blue), Lyon (orange), Sun Yat-sen (purple) and Tu Youyou (green).

After the run we enjoyed an outdoor barbeque lunch at school and a Chinese Cultural Fair to celebrate the New Year: stalls included traditional foods, calligraphy, sugar painting, clay figurine making, lion dancing, traditional costumes and handicrafts.
