Personal Guidance from a Master
Mr Lee’s schedule was full throughout the day. From morning to afternoon, he offered one-to-one coaching to students of different ages, guiding them with patience and expertise.

In every session—whether listening to a young beginner or a senior student demonstrating technique—Mr Lee was wholly attentive. He inspired students to find their own voice.

Exclusive Interview
After the masterclass, we had a brief interview with Mr Warren Lee.
When asked about his impression of the students, he said. “I think the students are very responsive,” he said. “That’s the most important thing. They are like a blank piece of paper, ready to take in information and ideas from me. They responded very quickly. They were able to understand the concepts—some of them quite advanced—and take in all the ideas and try them. That’s really impressive for students of this age.”
Asked how he approaches teaching different age groups, he shared his methods. “Working with different age groups really does take different (guidance), even different language, and
how you paint a picture for them. When they are younger, I use imagination. Sometimes I use demonstration—I play for them. They listen without words, and improve just by copying. With the older ones, I like them to think more. I like to ask a lot of questions. They think and they can apply what they learn to other pieces of music, and to other areas of learning as well.”
